"Vult DSP Freak Manifold Lateralus (Moog Ladder Filter digital model 6, 12, 8 and 24dB options). You can throw a lot of modulation at it. Sounds gnarly, behaves a bit differently than an analog filter too. MI Plaits tri/saw/square/sync sequenced by Arturia KeyStep/Mutable Yarns. Modulated by a Blue Lantern Digital ADSR and Phobos Lunar LFO. Quantized by o_C Meta-Q. When I have the time I'll try to do a short vid for each filter model. Like usual I decided it sounded neat so I recorded it spontaneously. Very fun, cool, inspired filter.

"Using the 'Age' equation in o_C's Viznutcracker, sweet! mode to sequence the STO. Sounded gnarly for a single oscillator so I whipped out my iPhone and recorded a bit. The numerous equations can really be put to use, not only as drones but strange LFOs and wilder modulators. Each one has its own 'personality.'"

"DSI Prophet 12 generative/experimental electronic soundscape. I will hold (sustain pedal) one or two notes and tweak the hell out of the P12. You can take one sound so many places. It is fun to see what happens and what kind of happy accidents or new discoveries you'll come across. I am using all 4 delays with 3 Looping Envelopes (VCA/VCF/Drive) to create this alien-sounding piece. Both the P12's HP & LP filters were also used quite a bit. You can really feed the 4 tap delays for some very unique sounds.

Tracked in Ableton Live 9 with Waves API 550B EQ, Waves Aphex Aural Exciter and SKNote's Empirical Labs EL7 in the channel strip. Also used Reaktor 6 FX and Native Instrument's RC 48 Royal Studio Hall Reverb, Alesis and Lexicon rack units. Mackie mixer into a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40."

"Studio Electronics Boomstar Quadnic module operating in Waveform Sequencing Mode. The Quadnic cycles through its 64 waveforms and the sequence process can be CV controlled, in this case by the Make Noise/Richter Wogglebug/Source of Uncertainty. As you increase or decrease the process amount the wave sequence will change speed, range and depth. The module runs off of 4 digital oscillators. They are internally modulation-heavy with 8 process modes. There are 4 banks of 16 waveforms ranging from traditional variations of triangles, sawtooths and squares to more digital, harmonically-rich waveforms. Here the Quadnic is running through various chords, pitches and sequence variations. I used the Make Noise Function as a linear AD envelope and the Expert Sleepers Disting Mk. 3 ping-pong delay also clocked to the Wogglebug and Function. Running a simple, single-channel Intellijel VCA for the Quadnic and the Doepfer Wasp lowpass filter."

Roland JP-08 LFOs, EGs and Modulations.

"Second demo of my JP-08. Sequenced by the KORG SQ-1 with Ableton Live. Diving deeper into the JP-08's envelopes, LFOs and modulation routes/options. I use the second VCO as a dedicated sub-oscillator. I run through the LFO shapes and rate as well as the LFO and Envelope mods on the VCOs, VCA and Filter. There is also Key Follow adjustments and some filtering.

There are so many positive points most importantly being the sound. There are two main flaws for me. One, is there is no aftertouch or velocity sensitivity. Two, the filters are not the greatest. Everything else pretty much flows together on the fly. The filter does step on both -12/-24 dB modes. If you kind of dial it in it's fine but great filter-sweeps are not this things strongpoint. Luckily it does have a definite sound to it I like. Great for Pads and Atmospheric stuff. Surprisingly versatile."

"Quick demo of the Roland JP-08's two oscillator waveforms, including VCO two's low-frequency sub-oscillators and cross modulation. I also do some quick mods, PWM and filters. Everything is running internally off the JP's sequencer. This is a very cool little piece of kit with some large sounds. I didn't even go into its LFO or Envelopes amongst so many other things). Great synth."

"The MoPho is synthesizing a drum beat while I play pads/chords on the Prophet 12. Audio tracked in Ableton 9 with Focusrite preamps and A/D/A conversion into the DAW. I also layered the room's audio which is two sets of monitors and a Peavey amp. I used a Sustain pedal to free up my hands to tweak the knobs."

"Arturia MiniBrute Waveform/Wave-Mixer Demonstration. I go from the Saw/SuperSaw to the Square/PWM and then to the Triangle/Metalizer. It's pretty easy to see the waveforms being folded by their Add-Ons. Then I close the filter and turn on the BruteFactor. The Arturia MiniBrute's analog-waveforms are sequenced off an ATOMOSYNTH Mochika XL CV/Gate Step-Sequencer. 100% analog into the mixer. The sequencer is running the MiniBrute via CV/Gate. I used the Smart Electronics scope and some plugins to boost the decibels a bit. I run through all the waveforms with the Filter and Resonance wide open then I start to close the filter and using the "BruteFactor" on the MiniBrute and all the other waveform folders. It's cool to see the actual waves folding when I increase the Metalizer or UltraSaw or PWM on each waveform. Badass synthesizer. Also run through some outboard gear,Lexicon MX200, BBE SonicMaximizer, M-Audio 610 FireWire A/D/A and a Mackie ProFX12 Mixer."
